In-Character Information

Name: Axl
Game/Series: Mega Man X7/X8
Teacher/Student/Other: Student
Canon Point: post X8, after he's brought back unconscious from Jakob Orbital Elevator
Age: Never stated but judging from his appearance, about 13
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: Freshman
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Dorm!

Personality:
Axl is of a model built to be younger than the previous models of reploids such as X and Zero during his time. Given that, Axl has been "programmed" to act as such. Whether it was intentional or due to his memory loss is questionable at best, but as opposed to X and Zero, who are concerned worried one and stoic warrior, respectively, Axl is seen as the more expressive, inexperienced and fledgling Maverick Hunter. He speaks his thoughts, whether it be through facial expressions or through words. When he's happy he'll smile and laugh; when he's confused, he will shoot a questioning look towards your direction. When he's angry, he'll frown and yell; when he's bored, he will whine and laze around. He's extremely optimistic and cheerful that sometimes you might forget that he's a robot and think he's a small child.

Axl has a bad habit of overestimating himself at times. Due to his cocky nature as well as naivety, not to mention being so energetic, if it gets to his head he would end up running off on his own and into trouble. Through his short time of being a Maverick Hunter, he has learned some self control, but it's still easy for his cockiness to slip up from time to time. He's very (if not over) confident with his skills, and would never hesitate to show them off.

He has a strong determination to follow his heart, his belief, as well as some sense of justice. The latter has started at being questionable at best, due to the fact that he was with a vigilante group before it had spiraled out of control due to Sigma's influence. Axl's sense of justice isn't quite the same as X's. As opposed to X's determination of trying to stop Mavericks and to persuade them back to normal, Axl fights them head on to defeat them. As X mentions, this is the prime example of Axl's naivety in action. He cares a lot for others though, so while his habits may put him in a questionable position at times the last thing he would do is hurt innocent people.

Axl never likes being idle for a long period of time. Sitting around not doing much quickly makes him less focused than he would be if he were actually doing the fighting, which makes it challenging for Axl to work as a navigator (he does comment on how the role of a navigator is dull in a recording clip in Japanese). Him and studying can be said the same thing as well: as a student he would rather take classes that require going outside and move around a lot as opposed to sitting at a desk and staring at textbooks. It's not to say he's completely dumb, he just doesn't think far enough to make the most out of any circumstances. Defeating enemies has always been the thing to do as far as he can remember and is yet to find anything else to be considered as a hobby.

Axl plays off most things very lightly due to his optimistic nature. He casually mentions how he doesn't remember anything from before he was found by Red, the leader of Red Alert. Whether it be game constraints or not, Axl had never questioned about the reason of his existence. This, along with the possibility that he may go Maverick based off of what Lumine mentioned, may perhaps be his possible fears if he did consider them as such. Not enough time had past for these thoughts to completely settle into Axl's simple-minded mind, but the thought is there to grow. There's also his connection with the Red Alert members; while he acted as though he hated some of the members, to him it was the first group of people he would create real memories with and even considers them as family. He's grateful of X and Zero and they're like parents to him, but Red Alert holds a special place in his heart even if he never speaks about it.

Backstory: Axl has no memories of how he was made or where he was from. His earliest memories consist of Red, the leader of Red Alert, finding him and recruit him into the bounty hunter group of taking down Mavericks. He then learned that the group was formed to take place for X, who had stepped down from fighting the Mavericks in attempt to resolve the issues in a more peaceful manner.

In a world where robots acting against the rules set by society easily getting marked as Mavericks, Red Alert was seen as a terrorist group by the Hunters. And indeed, that's how things went when Sigma took interest in the group, mainly for Axl's ability to copy almost any reploids. As Red Alert's tasks became more violent, Axl realizes something was off with the group, and decides to leave. That is where his story starts. As Axl gets to the Maverick Hunter's headquarters safely, Red contacts the headquarters demanding to get Axl back. The city is put into chaos by the other Red Alert members going Maverick, and while the headquarters search for Red's whereabouts, Axl, Zero and X goes around to defeat each member. When Red is found and they confront him, they learn Sigma was behind all this, and moves onto confront him as well. With Axl's help with his ability to copy, they were able to get Sigma's guard down and defeat him once again.

With Sigma defeated, Axl joins up with the Maverick Hunters, along with X back in the force as well. Some time pass, and the government constructs the Jakob Orbital Elevator to immigrate to the moon, called the "Jakob Project," to split humanity away from the reploids and the endless Maverick problem. One day an accident at the orbital elevator happens, where X runs into the director of the project as well as the elevator, Lumine, along with countless new generation reploids with the ability to copy any reploid data in Sigma's form. Shortly after that, Mavericks appear again, sending the Maverick Hunters out. The turn of events surprised the Hunters, as it wasn't Sigma who was the mastermind this time, but Lumine, the director himself. They manage to defeat him, but as Axl walked up to confirm that Lumine had been disabled, he was attacked by Lumine's body, rendering him immobilized.

The Hunters descend the Elevator back to Earth and the Maverick Hunter headquarters, carrying the unconscious Axl with his cracked helmet. As he's put into repair and maintenance, Axl teleports into Smash Academy where he would wake up in the infirmary.

Anything Else?:
- Brief history including prior to Axl's introduction and after that
- Axl's wikia profile
- Voice example of Axl and other Maverick Hunters with their lines as navigators
- Axl's weaponry list, excluding Command Mission arsenal
- Axl has an ability called Copy Shot. It's also mentioned in his wiki page, but by shooting at his enemy, he can collect data from them and to a certain extent, be able to change his appearance to the said enemy. It varies of to what extent he can copy for each target, ranging from complete copying to merely their abilities. For game purposes, Axl will be limited to copying robots' appearances and abilities.
- Some CR with Red Alert. Axl looks up to Red a lot. It was his reason of why he left the group when Sigma's influence got noticeable, to make Red realize his mistakes. Axl most definitely enjoyed being with the other members as well. While he acted as if he despised the members during the encounters throughout X7, he definitely misses each member. He knows they will never return so he doesn't dwell on it.

[The video feed goes live with a boy with a strange-looking helmet and a scar on his face peering at the screen with a slightly confused look on his face. He taps at the computer monitor a bit before waving at it with his gloved(?) hand.]

Man, the technology in this world is so ancient... I think I've only seen these in archives when I was forced to do some desk work...!

[He then notices the video is already recording, and he clears his throat. Before giving a bright smile and a wave.]

Hey there! I'm Axl. I'm not sure why I ended up in this world, but since I'm here now I'll make the most out of it. I've never been to a school before, either! And this place is a fighting school, right? Sounds kinda fun.

Oh right! I'm a Maverick Hunter! Kinda like robot police to take care of robots going berserk, I guess! Totally cool, right?! [He gives a grin, looking proud of himself.]

Anyways, nice to meet you guys. If you want any help with anything, let me know! [Because Maverick Hunters are supposed to be helpful and stuff, right!?!!? And with a dumb-looking salute, the feed goes off.]

DR post

This city felt so strange. Foreign, but vaguely familiar. He sure never came to this city before, but there were elements that looked familiar to back "home," such as the tall buildings. The only major difference was that there were drastically less reploids than his homeworld, and that somehow made him a little lonely. But it was mostly the strange feeling that made him uneasy.

With almost no reploids, the Maverick problem was nonexistent. Which meant Axl's primary purpose was close to null. This uncertainty of what he should be doing in this world made him uneasy.

"...Hey! No gloomy thoughts." He told himself with a huff as he made his way through the hallways. "This is a 'school,' right? Schools mean you learn things. Maybe I can find a new purpose while I'm here!"

There was always doing target practice in the stadium, as he quickly learned from scouting around the first day. There's bound to be of some use with his skills some way or another.

"...Eh, maybe I'll go do some target practice now." Sitting down at a table for a long period of time was so boring, too. With that in mind, Axl changed his direction to the stadium, resulting in skipping his class.

This was off to a great start...
